PGCAC Programs
Since its chartering in March 1974, the Prince George's County Alumnae Chapter (PGCAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., has mirrored its programs of community service in the clearly distinguished image of its National organization, which in dramatic fashion, clearly confront the challenges of African-Americans and their families. During the past three and one-half decades, PGCAC has worked tirelessly to develop and to implement a wide range of empowering programs and initiatives that emulate its shared mission with that of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
In the long-standing tradition of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., PGCAC continues to advance its efforts to strengthen African-American families and communities through its Five-Point Program Thrust of Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement. As you journey through the PGCAC website, fundamental examples of each program thrust will be highlighted.

International Awareness and Involvement
Delta has a rich history of involvement in the international arena. The building and maintenance of a maternity wing at the Thika Memorial Hospital in Kenya, West Africa, to Delta's identification of 1987 at the "Delta internationale Year" underscores Delta's committment to understanding the world.
Concerns about America's physical and mental health have not escaped Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Delta's work in prevention and "wellness" translates to health education programs , health fairs and the provision of health care services. Delta also supports medical research that examines illnesses that targets specific segments of the country's population.
Political Awareness and Involvement
Though non-partisan in nature and purpose, Delta understands the importance of and the need for an informed electorate.
Delta's concern for the public's "need-to-know" and the enfranchisement of all Americans has been the philosophical basis for public service programs in this area. Voter registration and voter education programs, workshops and seminars highlighting elected public official assessment and accountability are ongoing.
