On March 31, 1974, The Prince George's County Alumnae Chapter (PGCAC) was chartered with 23 enthusiastic members. More than two decades later, having grown to more than 500 members, PGCAC remains in the forefront: crafting the debate on public policy and social issues, creating opportunities for higher quality education through the provision of annual scholarships and innovative youth development programs, and stimulating economic growth through its expanding, diverse influence within Prince George's County. Emulating the Founders, the members of PGCAC continue to promote academic excellence and to provide assistance to persons in need through distinct programs emphasizing physical and mental health, economic and educational development, international awareness and involvement, and political awareness and involvement.
